Upcoming Barbados Hotel and Resort Openings

When it comes to finding a hotel in Barbados, the possibilities are endless. The entire south and west coast is littered with choices to pick from, and 2026 will see a few more names being added to that list.

Next year, two major hotel chains are expected to open new hotels. There will be a few re-openings as well following refurbishment works. With that said, let’s get into it.

Hotel Indigo Bridgetown Barbados – Opening January 12, 2026

The InterContinental Hotels & Resorts (known as IHG) is finalizing works on the Hotel Indigo Bridgetown Barbados. Located on the southwestern coast in Hastings (a short drive from Bridgetown), the Hotel Indigo property promises 132 rooms with three restaurants, a rooftop bar and pool, a ground level pool, spa and other facilities.

The Hotel Indigo brand is part of IHG’s boutique hotel collection, with each property being reflective of the surrounding area. Bookings are already open for the January 12, 2026 opening, with rooms starting as low as $480 per night. There aren’t many final renders of the rooms just yet, but I’ve already booked a night here, and will provide a review at a later date.

Royalton Vessence Barbados – Opening July 1, 2026

Originally branded as the Royalton CHIC, the Royalton Vessence Barbados is part of Marriott’s Autograph Collection, and is scheduled to open on July 1, 2026. The adult-only all-inclusive resort is situated on the west coast shoreline in Holetown. The hotel has 220 suites along with nine restaurants, five bars, as well as an art studio where guests can take part in art, pottery, and culinary workshops.

Besides the usual pool and spa facilities, they also offer a choice of wellness programs such as yoga, breathwork and expressive movement sessions. There’s even a “digital detox” area for those looking to take a break from the connected lifestyle.

The resort is already accepting bookings, but note that you’ll have to plan for a four-night minimum stay. Like Hotel Indigo, Autograph Collection hotels are independently operated and offered a boutique experience for its visitors.

Pendry Barbados – Opening Q4 2026

Founded in 2014, the Pendry Hotels and Resorts brand is entering international territory with the development of Pendry Barbados. The luxury boutique hotel chain will feature 80 beachfront guest rooms along with multiple restaurants, a spa and a children’s area and marina access if you prefer to sail in.

Pendry has also taken over the Port Ferdinand residential resort, branding it as the Pendry Residences Barbados. The residential section consists of 46 two-to-five-bedroom villas, all offering access to the marina and the Pendry Hotel.

There aren’t much details otherwise regarding the hotel side of things, but the developers are estimating an opening date near the end of 2026. Pendry Barbados is located along the western coast line at Six Mens Bay.

Hyatt Ziva Barbados – end of 2027

First envisioned as a Hyatt Centric property, work on the family-friendly Hyatt Ziva all-inclusive resort is currently underway. Located just south of the city center next to Carlisle Bay, this Hyatt Ziva Barbados will comprise of three separate buildings with 380 guest suites and 40 condominium units.

It’s still early days, but with substructure works wrapping up, the developers are looking to start foundation works by the end of 2025. The project is expected to be completed by the end of 2027, but with anything hotel-related, there are always delays and it wouldn’t be surprising if the opening date slides into 2028.

Three Marriott Brands coming out of renovation

The Tamarind Resort (Autograph Collection) is expected to open on January 1, 2026, while the Crystal Cove Hotel and Turtle Beach (both Tribute Portfolio brands) are scheduled to open later the same year.
