Jamaica has no shortage of up-and-coming hotels, and the new UNICO 18˚77˚ Montego Bay is no exception. The PAM Hotels-owned UNICO Hotel Collection is opening its third all-inclusive resort, while marking its first expansion outside of Mexico.

UNICO has a pretty interesting naming convention, with 18˚77˚ representing the generic latitude and longitudinal position of the resort. Located along the Montego Bay coastline, 20 minutes from the Sangster International Airport, the new resort will feature 451 rooms and suites, nearly all with ocean views and private outdoor spa tubs.

“Expanding beyond Mexico marks an exciting milestone for UNICO Hotel Collection, but our philosophy remains the same,” said Philipp Hofer, Managing Director of PAM Hotels and General Manager of UNICO 18˚77˚ Montego Bay. “Every resort is shaped by the destination it calls home. Montego Bay gives us the opportunity to celebrate Jamaica’s culture, creativity, cuisine and hospitality in a way that feels authentic to the island while staying true to the personalised experience that defines our brand.”

According to the booking engine, there are four room and three suite variants, offering pool and ocean views, with some having swim-up options. The larger Estancia Suites have a living room, kitchen and breakfast area, and come in the basic suite, one- and two-bedroom options.

There are four major restaurant options including Nyam (pan-Asian), Karavella (Mediterranean), Selva Verde (Mexican) and the 18˚77˚ Restaurant (a buffet-style international option). There is also Cafe Inez, a coffee and juice bar, and The Gelateria, serving Italian gelato. If you fancy a drink, they have three lounges and bars.

UNICO 18˚77˚will also feature four pools, each with a swim-up bar, an Esencia Wellness Spa with 32 treatment rooms, and a fitness area. UNICO also has a hybrid butler/concierge service called Local Host.

The hotel is now accepting bookings, and UNICO is expected to start welcoming guests from March 1, 2027. What’s even more interesting is that the PAM Hotels group is also developing the Hard Rock Hotel Montego Bay next door to UNICO, which is expected to feature more than 1,100 rooms. The upscale hotel will offer an integrated resort experience with shopping, a casino, dining, and more.
