Hotel Riu Palace Aruba Re-Opens Following Much Need Renovations

Aruba has always been a holiday-favorite in the Netherlands Antilles, but up until recently, much of the island’s hotel inventory was in desperate need of renovations.

The good news is that over the last few years, besides a number of new openings, many of the current hotels have undergone modernization works, bringing the respective facilities up to today’s standards. The Hotel Riu Palace Aruba is no exception.

Hotel Riu Palace Aruba originally opened on July 24, 2007, marking RIU Hotels & Resorts’ entry into Aruba. Even though the hotel did undergo updates in 2015, they have once again redesigned all its guest rooms, private spaces, as well as its lobby, pool areas, restaurants and bars, and kids’ area. They also introduced their adults-only Elite Club by RIU, offering rooms with some of the resort’s best ocean views.

In a statement, the Spanish hotel group said:

“RIU Hotels & Resorts has reopened the doors of the iconic Hotel Riu Palace Aruba following a comprehensive renovation of its facilities. With this refurbishment, the Spanish chain reinforces its commitment to the island, where it has been operating since 2007, while elevating the hotel’s offering to match the exclusive setting of Palm Beach, globally recognized as one of the finest beaches in the Caribbean.”

All 450 rooms and suites are certainly a step above their previous offering, featuring much lighter tones, with a mix of natural colors used on the furniture and flooring. As mentioned above, they’ve introduced their Elite Club brand, reserving the rooms with the best views for customers purchasing this option. 31 of those rooms also feature private swim-up pools.

Their restaurant line up now includes a variety of culinary options from Steakhouse, Don Nicolás, Krystal, Sayuri (Asian), Milano (Italian), Pepe’s Food and Tiki Taco. There’s also a renovated coffee and ice cream shop, and a new American sports bar.

Even though the Hotel Riu Palace Aruba is a kids-friendly resort, adults have access to the RIU Party held on Friday nights over at the neighboring Riu Palace Antillas.
