Save 45% on early bookings at Sonesta Maho and Ocean Point

As St. Maarten slowly recovers from the destruction caused by Hurricane Irma back in September 2017, work on the Sonesta Maho and Ocean Point resorts continue as the hotel chain has now set firm re-opening dates within the new few months.

Of the two resorts which reside on the same property, the Sonesta Maho took the brunt of the damage, forcing developers to strip the property down to its bare frame. Luckily, the structural frame was left intact, allowing them to “install TCK and LVKE building technology with storm resistant building envelope that can withstand sustained winds in excess of 200mph winds (Irma had sustained winds of 165mph) and severe earthquakes.”

The adjacent Ocean Point resort on the other hand suffered considerably less damage, allowing them to get to work on repairing the damaged sections. The building will also benefit from added storm-resistant technology. However, the Ocean Point lobby will be “entirely redesigned and given an updated contemporary style, while the new Casa Blue, a Spanish-style tapas restaurant, will debut on the rooftop terrace above Azul restaurant.”

With that in mind, the Sonesta Ocean Point Resort will re-open its doors on November 15, 2018, while the Sonesta Maho which requires a bit more work, will re-open on February 1, 2019.

All customers who book early can benefit from a 45% discount at both resorts if they book via their website, or call 1-800-SONESTA (223-0757) with the promo code PREOPENING.

We did some digging around and found that some of the travel sites are also offering the same discounted rate on random dates we searched.

As this offer is available for a limited time, we recommend booking now.
