The dutch side of Saint Martin might be be known for plane spotting at Maho Beach, but the French side can easily boast about its numerous beaches, dining options and Pinel Island, a small cay on the east cost just 5 minutes away via boat ride.
While there are many many accommodation options, there are just a handful of full fledged hotels, with most of the remaining stays either being handled by private, independent agencies or through individuals on booking sites like Airbnb.
Most may be familiar with names like Belmond’s La Samanna or Hyatt’s Secrets St. Martin, but there is new contender on the block called the Le Martin Boutique Hotel. Located in Cul de Sac near the Pinel Island ferry pier, the new luxury boutique hotel offers six individually styled rooms, each carrying their own name. Five of the six rooms offer ocean view terraces, with the remaining offering a garden view (with a small ocean view). The square footage also varies depending on which you book.
The prices are generally the same for most, accommodating either one or two persons, except for Marcelle’s Room which can accommodate between two to four people. There are also add-ons such as breakfast, and the honeymoon special (a bottle of champagne and desserts).
All rooms are equipped with the essentials such as air conditioning, free Wi-Fi, a Nespresso Machine, USB and AC charging ports (make sure to bring your converters if you’re coming from the US), Apple TVs and more.
Guests also have access to a massage therapist, yoga instructor or sports trainer. With the Pinel Island ferry being just 10 minutes away by foot, it’s easily one of the biggest draws in the area.
