Following four months of extensive renovation and refurbishment works, the five-star all-inclusive Riu Negril hotel has re-opened its doors.
Located on the Bloody Bay beachfront in Negril, Jamaica, the updated resort now has 600 rooms split between five room types. As part of the update, 28 rooms now include a private swim-up pool for those looking for a bit more privacy.
They’ve moved away from the brown tiles and dark-stained furniture, and have used a selection of natural, lighter and soft colors to enhance the atmosphere of the rooms and surrounding environment.
All rooms are 312 square feet in size, and offer either a king or double queen bed option, with prices varying depending on the view you prefer. The basic room offers no balcony, while higher tier options offer a balcony or terrace view of the garden, partial or full view of the ocean. Finally, there is the top-tier room option which has both a view of the ocean and the swim-up pool in one.
Riu Negril also opened three new restaurants including the “American Country” themed restaurant, “Pepe’s food” and the “Tiki Taco” taco station, bringing the total to eight options. They’ve also built out two new spaces for events and conferences.
There are five pool areas: one for water activities, a quiet pool, one for general use, one especially for children, and one with a new swim-up water bar, which brings the hotel’s total number of bars to six. Additionally, they’ve boosted their fitness/sport facility collection by installing three pickleball courts.
The Riu Negril first opened in 2004, and is one of seven resorts in Jamaica belonging to the Riu Hotels and Resorts group, offering 4,274 rooms between the seven locations.
