Canadian carrier Porter Airlines has announced new routes to another tropical destination, offering flights to Turks and Caicos starting this winter.

Already serving the typical tourist hotspots including Aruba, Nassau (Bahamas), Jamaica and Grand Cayman (Cayman Islands), Porter will start service to Turks and Caicos from both Ottawa and Toronto Pearson, first starting from Toronto on November 6.

Hamilton is also gaining a new route to Tampa, Florida, with four weekly flights, beginning December 18. This is the third city in Florida that Porter flies to from Hamilton, joining Orlando and Fort Lauderdale.

Porter plans to operate these flights with their Embraer E195-E2s, each seating 132 passengers. Porter has come a long way since starting operations in 2006. They have built their way up to being Canada’s third largest airline behind Air Canada and WestJet, serving a number of Canadian, US and tropical destinations in Central America and the Caribbean.

At the time of posting, they operated 29 De Havilland Canada Dash 8-400s and 53 Embraer E195-E2s with 22 more pending delivery, along with 25 more available as purchase options.
