JetBlue Launches Boston-Amsterdam Service

After launching its New York to Amsterdam service at the end of August, JetBlue has since inaugurated its second route to Schiphol, this time from Boston.

“Our recently launched Amsterdam service from New York has already been very successful and we are thrilled to expand our low fares and great service to Amsterdam to our Boston customers,” said Dave Clark, head of revenue and planning, JetBlue. “Adding nonstop service to Amsterdam benefits business and leisure customers who have suffered from high fares by legacy carriers for decades and brings more options to our customers in our New England focus city.”

The daily service kicked off last night (September 20), departing Boston Logan (BOS) at 9:21 p.m. local time. At the time of publication, the flight more than halfway over the Atlantic, with an expected arrival time of 9:03 a.m. local time in Amsterdam (AMS).

JetBlue will operate once daily service between the two destinations with their new Airbus A321LR aircraft. Their business-heavy LRs carry much less passengers, with 24 redesigned Mint seats and 114 seats in economy.

The service schedule is as follows:

  • B631 – Boston – Amsterdam – departs 10:13 p.m. and arrives at 9:35 a.m. (+1) – all times local
  • B632 – Amsterdam – Boston – departs 11:35 a.m. and arrives at 2:00 p.m. – all times local

“Boston destination partners are thrilled with the launch of this nonstop service from Amsterdam. The Netherlands is a very important overseas source market for us, annually sending more than 30,000 visitors to our region and these visitors inject upwards of $35 million into our regional economy,” said Martha Sheridan, Meet Boston President and CEO. “JetBlue’s expansion into key European markets is a critical conduit for Boston to fully recover its market share of international visitors.”

To celebrate the launch, seats in economy are going for as low as $499 round trip and $2,199 for those wanting to try Mint Class. If you’re booking from the Netherlands side of things, introductory fares go for €399 ($433) for economy seating and €1,599 ($1712) for business class.
