Low cost carrier Avelo Airlines is once again expanding its route network, adding two new Florida cities out of New Haven, Connecticut and Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina.
Avelo is adding both Daytona Beach (DAB) and Melbourne (MLB) out of Tweed-New Haven Airport (HVN). It plans to operate twice weekly non-stop service between New Haven and Melbourne from June 21, 2023 on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Daytona Beach will also see non-stop service from New Haven twice per week on Thursdays and Sundays. This new service will start on June 22. Introductory one-way fares will start as low as $49.
The carrier’s Chairman and CEO Andrew Levy said, “We are excited to offer Southern Connecticut residents even more travel options with the addition of these two new Florida routes. With 17 nonstop destinations, including eight Florida cities, flying from Tweed is more convenient and affordable than ever.”
Avelo will also expand its Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU) hub, adding twice weekly service to Melbourne from June 23. This route will be operated on Mondays and Fridays. Introductory one-way fares start as low as $29.
Raleigh-Durham Airport Authority President and CEO Michael Landguth said, “Avelo continues to build momentum at RDU as they grow along with our community and add new nonstop destinations. It has been rewarding to watch them expand at such a fast pace and increase the number of options Triangle-area travelers have to choose from.”
Both routes will be operated by the fleet of Boeing 737-800NGs.
