Contour Airlines Adds Trinidad To Its Caribbean Network

U.S. regional airline Contour Airlines is expanding its presence is the Caribbean, adding yet another destination to its network.

The carrier, which technically is a public charter operator, sells flights that are operated by its parent company Contour Aviation. They have a very scattered presence across the United States, connecting a number of smaller airports to larger hubs like Chicago O’Hare, Nashville, Dallas-Ft. Worth, Las Vegas and so on.

In the last year, they have been expanding their presence in the Caribbean, already operating flights in San Juan (SJU), Puerto Rico, St. Maarten (SXM), St. Thomas (STT) and Dominica (DOM).

On Wednesday, the carrier announced it will add Port of Spain (POS), Trinidad to its network, with flights to Dominica, with the option of continuing onto to San Juan or St. Thomas on the same aircraft. They will also connect passengers between St. Maarten and St. Thomas. Here’s what that network looks like.

Both routes will be operated with an Embraer ERJ-135, with flights starting in October 2026 as follows:

• POS-DOM: Tuesdays and Fridays
• DOM-POS: Mondays and Thursdays
• STT-SXM and SXM-STT: Mondays and Fridays

This is quite an interesting route as Trinidad and Tobago’s Caribbean Airlines once operated flights to Dominica, but opted to pull out after making losses on the same segment. However, it will be interesting to see if Contour can do a better job as they operate a much smaller aircraft seating 30 passengers, versus the larger 68-seater ATR 72-600 which Caribbean Airlines used.
