The Royalton Hotels and Resorts chain will debut its new Vessence brand on June 1, 2026, with the opening of the Royalton Vessence Barbados.

The Vessence brand is geared towards adults only, and from their description, it seems to be something in the middle ground between their quieter couples Hideaway collection, and the more upbeat, party-oriented CHIC brand. According to them, it “combines artistic design, wellness, and soulful sophistication, specifically catering to adults seeking a sensory and curated vacation experience.”

Like other Royalton brands, Vessence properties will also be all-inclusive, offering coverage of foods and drinks, snacks and access to various amenities. This may vary from property to property, and there may be additional benefits depending on which all-inclusive package you book.

Located in Holetown on the Discovery Bay beachfront, the Royalton Vessence Barbados will feature 220 rooms, with more than a dozen dining concepts, bars, and a creative studio. From the renders, it seems that almost all rooms will have either a full or partial view of the ocean, unless you happen to stay in a room more inland on a lower floor.

There are three suite types, including the basic Luxury Junior Suite, as well as the larger Luxury Presidential One Bedroom and Luxury Chairman Two Bedroom. There are variations to these of course depending on the features you want. All rooms have balcony access, free Wi-Fi across the resort, a stocked mini fridge, and 24-hour room service.

Those booking Luxury Junior Suite have the option of the Diamond Club upgrade, while all higher tier rooms include this as part of the package by default. Diamond Club guests have butler service, access to premium bars and drink options, priority dining reservations, a private lounge, sectioned-off pool areas, free access to select spa services, rooftop access and more.

When Royalton first planed its Barbados entrance, the property was originally intended to fall under their CHIC brand, which caters more to party-goers, but the concept was later changed to what is now known as Vessence. Besides this resort, Royalton will open another Vessence brand in Cancun later in 2026.

The Royalton Vessence Barbados was originally carded to open in July 2026, but it seems they’ve had much better luck than Hotel Indigo (another recent Barbados opening), and will open a month earlier than originally planned. I hope to check out both of these resorts in the near future and give my thoughts.
