Barbados’ hotel scene is picking up. There have been a number of openings and re-openings including Hotel Indigo Bridgetown Barbados and Crystal Cove, Barbados. There are a few others due to open including Royalton Vessence Barbados which pushed up its debut to June 1, 2026, as well as Turtle Beach and Tamarind Resort which are supposed to re-open in mid-May following renovation works.

The luxury boutique brand Pendry Hotels and Resorts will be joining this collection, with plans of opening an 80-room resort, along with 46 private homes and a marina. The residential area and marina was previously under the ownership of Port Ferdinand Luxury Marina and Residences brand, before being bought out by Pendry Hotels in 2023.

Located along the western coast line at Six Men’s Bay, the residences are now on sale and start at $2.7 million, with options varying from two-to-five-bedroom villas, all offering access to the marina and the Pendry Hotel.

Pendry Hotels operates resorts mostly across the United States, with two in Mexico. Barbados will be its third hotel outside the U.S., making it its first foray into the Caribbean.

They recently celebrated the topping off of the resort, with plans to open sometime in 2027. Details are still few and far apart, but it is understood that the building was designed by architect Robert Glazier, with all 80 Studio Munge-designed rooms offering either a beach or oceanfront view depending on the angle.

In terms of amenities, there will be a number of restaurant and bar concepts, dockside venues, sporting activities and a children’s play area. As the entire complex falls under the Pendry name, guests will also have access to the marina, and nearby shopping area.

Pendry says the resort will reflect the relaxed pace of Barbados while bringing the brand’s design-led, experience-focused approach to the Caribbean. Michael Fuerstman, co-founder of Pendry Hotels & Resorts, said Barbados represents an “exciting next chapter” for the brand, pointing to the island’s culture, community and coastline as reasons for the choice.
