If you’re a fan of the all-inclusive Sonesta Maho hotel in St. Maarten, you may have heard that the post-Hurricane Irma soft launch date was pushed back to February 27, 2019. This is obviously a huge blow to guests who were supposed to arrive as early as February 1.
Affected guests have since been re-accommodated elsewhere (or refunded) while the hotel deals with the effects of construction delays. However, the Sonesta Ocean Point arm has already re-opened its doors as the damage inflicted was much less severe.
Sonesta Ocean Point – 55% off today only (January 28)
If you have the free time and can somehow find yourself in St. Maarten on January 30 to 31, you can book a Junior Suite for as much as 55% off the original price, as part of their last minute January special. This option can only be booked directly via their website or over the phone (1-800-SONESTA with the promo code LASTMIN), with full payment being required up front.
Sonesta Maho and Ocean Point – 45% off until February 28
If you can’t make it in a hurry, their re-opening special is still available until February 28, which offers guests rates 45% lower than the regular booking price. Given the flexibility of the situation, we recommend not booking close to the new soft launch opening date as any potential further construction delays could mean not having somewhere to stay (if you are looking at the Sonesta Maho).
