BermudAir is expanding its U.S. footprint, adding three new cities to its route network.
Starting in April 2025, BermudAir will offer non-stop flights to Charleston, South Carolina; Hartford, Connecticut; and Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina. These three additions will bring the airline’s destination count to 10.
These flights will operated with their fleet of Embraer E175s as follows:
To/From Bermuda (BDA): | Frequency: | Begins: |
---|---|---|
Hartford (BDL) | Thursdays and Saturdays | April 3, 2025 |
Raleigh-Durham (RDU) | Mondays and Fridays | April 11, 2025 |
Charleston (CHS) | Saturdays | April 19, 2025 |
BermudAir currently serves five U.S. cities including Boston, White Plains, Baltimore-Washington, Orlando, and Fort Lauderdale, and two Canadian cities, Toronto and Halifax.
Founded in May 2023, BermudAir planned to operate all-business class flights between Bermuda and select U.S. destinations. They intended to install custom lie-flat business class seats, promising an experience similar to that of La Compagnie.
However, this did not come to pass, and they launched service in September 2023, offering only 44 of the 88 economy seats for sale per flight. This meant that each guest had access to two seats as part of their business class package.
A month later, they changed their seating model again, reducing their cabin to 20 rows, with 15 rows in a 2-2 economy configuration. The remaining five business class rows also feature regular economy seats, with the aisle option being blocked on its booking engine, similar to what is done in Europe.
With that said, the airline hopes to install its marketed “aisle seats” by the end of the year.
Fleet expansion and longer routes?
BermudAir appears to be thriving just just over a year after launching and is set to acquire two additional Embraer E175s, according to AirlineGeeks. They are also eyeing more distant routes including Chicago and Texas, and are even toying with the idea of entering the European market.
“We do have ambitions ultimately to fly trans-Atlantic and I think there are several opportunities for us out there.
“Europe is definitely in our sights at some point.”
While the airline is loyal to E-jets, if they do decide to cross the pond, they may have to look at larger options. Maybe the Airbus A321LR?
