In the past we’ve recommended the TripIt app to make sense of complicated itineraries by organizing flights, hotel stays and events in a simple to understand timeline.
As part of the company’s efforts to support passengers affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, TripIt is offering 6 months of its $49/year plan for free if you sign up by March 31, 2020. The offer is being extended to new and current users, regardless of subscription. New users can sign up here, while existing users can update their accounts to take advantage of the offer.
The 6 month time frame makes sense given that the impact of Coronavirus will last for quite some time.
TripIt’s Pro service provides a lot of travel data in one source including preferred seat tracking, notifying users of lower airfares, providing updated flight alerts for airlines that support it, among many other useful features. Hotel and flight booking can be either manually added, or just by forwarding your respective confirmation emails to the given TripIt email address.
Even though I have been using the free version of the app for some time, it has been a godsend on trips that require multiple city and country stops and hotel check ins.
