It’s no secret that JetBlue is phasing out its smaller and older fleet of Embraer E190s.
The news first dropped via an earnings call in mid-2022, stating that the airline had decided to pull forward the fleet’s retirement to mid-2025 as part of cost cutting measures. With JetBlue taking on higher capacity and more efficient Airbus A220s, the carrier began phasing out the bulk of their E190s at the start of 2024.
Even though an official date has not been set just yet, it appears the very last JetBlue E190 will fly on September 4, 2025. According to Ishrion Aviation, the airline has scheduled flight B6 1900 departing New York (JFK) at 12:00 p.m., arriving in Boston (BOS) at 1:15 p.m. (both local times).
The post has already drawn quite a bit of attention, with one-way ticket prices starting at $460 on a flight that would normally cost below $99. In true AVGeek fashion, almost all the window seats have been booked already, with just four more remaining at the time of this post going live.

Ishrion Aviation noted that while this isn’t official confirmation, he did say that the flight number is not a regularly used, last being used for a flight from New Orleans to Boston over six months ago. There are no E190 flights in JetBlue’s booking system beyond this date either.
On November 8, 2005, JetBlue had the privilege of being the 100-seater Embraer E190 launch customer, flying from Boston to New York with the then new aircraft type. Almost 20 years later, the fleet number has been whittled down to just nine, all of which will be phased out over the next three months.

In April 2021, the airline took delivery of its first Airbus A220-300. The newer aircraft boasts a 25% fuel savings while reducing noise by at much as 50% thanks to the Pratt & Whitney PW1000G geared turbofan engine. Since then, they have taken on 47 A220s, with 53 more still pending delivery.
