Dominican low cost carrier Arajet offers passengers connections throughout the Caribbean, Central and South America via its hub in Santo Domingo.
With any LCC, the airline offers does offer all-economy seating to maximize passenger numbers. Arajet bundles its fares, but gives the option to purchase individual extra add-ons.

Arajet Fares Overview
Arajet’s fares are broken down into three categories:
- Smart
- Comfort
- Extra
The Extra fare gets you pretty much everything in exchange for the highest ticket price, but if you book Smart or Comfort, passengers can then add additional options on an individual basis if they prefer not to buy an entire fare class above their desired bundle.
The airline also encourages you to arrange all perks during online booking, as paying for additional items in the later stages (e.g. during online check-in or at the airport) is incrementally more expensive depending on which stage you choose to pay at.

Arajet Carry-on Allowance
Passengers looking to skip baggage charges may actually be better off checking a bag, as carry-on options are only available as part of the Extra fare. Otherwise you would have to buy it as an add-on, which is also more expensive than purchasing an option for a checked item.
It would also be wise to confirm you bags’ weight and size, as a gate checked bag is very expensive.

- Carry-on bags should fall within the following dimensions L22″ x W18″ x H10″ (56 x 46 x 25cm) and weigh no more than 12kg/26lb.
- Personal items are free of charge regardless of the chosen bundle, and should weigh less than 6kg/13lb, and should be able to fit under the seat in front of you.

Travelers actually get the benefit of a free bag in the mid-tier Comfort bundle, but additional bags can still be purchased separately as follows:

- Checked bags should be no more than 158cm/62inches across the combined three dimensions, and should weigh no more than 20kg/44lb. Anything besides this will either fall under overweight or oversized baggage.
Arajet Additional and Excess Baggage Fees
Items such as sports equipment and musical instruments can be paid for in advance, with the same incremental system applying. Unfortunately these items cannot be checked at the gate. As overweight and oversized bags have to be measured, this can only take place at the check in counter.

Traveling With Pets
While Arajet allows you to travel with an animal, their policy is a bit on the restrictive side as the airline does not allow animals in the aircraft hold, and those that are allowed in the cabin must be either crated in a soft sided carrier, or be able to fit in your lap or foot well if they are assistance or emotional support animals.
Travelers are allowed to travel with one animal only. Animals besides cats and dogs are not allowed (service animals are further limited to being dogs only).
- Regular pets – Must be crated in a soft sided carrier with a maximum size of L15″ x W9″ x H7″ / 40 x 25 x 20cm. The combined weight of the animal and carrier should be no more than 10kg/22lb. Pets are subject to the following fees in the below table.
- Emotional Support Animals – Must be able to fit comfortably in your lap or foot well, and documentation must be provided from a professional to justify your need for an emotional support animal. Emotional support animals are subject to the following fees in the below table.
- Assistance/Service dogs – Limited to dogs only. Must be able to fit comfortably in your lap or foot well, and documentation must be provided to confirm that said animal is a service/assistance animal. Service animals fly free of charge.

Traveling With Infants
- Children two years and older occupying their own seat will be subjected to standard ticket fares.
- Lapped infants will be charged at a rate of 5% of the standard fare (plus taxes and charges).
- Traveling with an infant entitles you to carry one additional personal item per infant, each weighing up to 6kg/13lb, with each measuring no more than L40 x W25 x H20cm.
- Adults are allowed to supervise/travel with up to two infants. If traveling with two infants, one should occupy their own seat.
- Strollers and baby seats can be carried, but they must be checked in (either at the check in counter or at the gate). If extra safety is a concern, this is something to note as you cannot carry these items in the cabin.
Arajet Payment Options for Baggage
Payments for baggage can either be made online with a debit or credit card when booking your ticket, or through the ticket management portal. Arajet does not appear to have physical offices, but transactions can also be conducted over the phone by contacting one of their call centers.
